Hurricane Katrina Response Photos - 2005 - Page Three

October 26, 2005 - Atonement Lutheran Church at Metairie, La., is providing its adjacent soccer field as space for the Katrina relief effort.

The Orphan Grain Train mobile office (known as the "Gospel Express") was brought to Metairie in late October to provide extra office space for administering the relief effort.

Workers at Atonement Lutheran stay in their R. V. campers while displaced persons live in tents.

Empty pallets on the ground in the storage tent sit waiting for the next Orphan Grain Train shipment.

As of October 26, 2005, tents continue to provide shelter for displaced people and for the supplies brought to Metairie.

Unloading of the Oct. 26 Grain Train shipment to Metairie begins.

Plywood was shipped to make raised floors on top of wooden pallets inside the tents.

A number of computers were included in the shipment, to be used where needed most.
